recipes:main_dish:beef:slow_cooker_beef_and_broccoli
  • 2 lb thin beef (I used rib eye)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (La Choy and Tamari wheat-free are gluten free)
  • 4 T white wine
  • 4 T apple cider vinegar
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 4 t sesame oil
  • 4 cloves smashed and chopped garlic
  • 1 t crushed red pepper flakes
  • ginger
  • 2 lb thawed broccoli florets (to add later)

Directions

  1. Add the liquid to the crockpot with the chopped garlic.
  2. Stir in spices
  3. Slice meat into thin strips
  4. Toss ( I used my hands. it wasn't gross! )in the liquid and spice mixture to coat thoroughly
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, depending on the cut of meat. Thicker pieces will take longer to tenderize.
  6. An hour before serving, add broccoli, cover and cook on high for another hour or so.
  7. Stir gingerly to coat broccoli.

Serve over steamed rice.
