recipes:main_dish:beef:csa_goulash
  • ground meat (beef is good, mixed with ground turkey is healthier)
  • onions
  • squash
  • zucchini
  • peppers
  • garlic
  • tomatoes of some form; commercial tomato sauce works well, but make sure it's low sugar
  • fat for cooking
  • grated parmesan, optional

Suggested seasoning: Penzey's Mural of Flavor, salt, celery seed, worcestershire

  1. Cook the ground meat, and drain any fat. Set aside.
  2. Chop all the veg and have it all ready to go.
  3. Heat the fat in a large pan. Start with the garlic, and sautee the veg until cooked.
  4. Mix the veg with the meat. If using a commercial sauce, top, mix, and heat. If using fresh tomatoes or stewed tomatoes, make a sauce then add it to the pan.
  5. Top with parmesan if desired.
