- ground meat (beef is good, mixed with ground turkey is healthier)
- onions
- squash
- zucchini
- peppers
- garlic
- tomatoes of some form; commercial tomato sauce works well, but make sure it's low sugar
- fat for cooking
- grated parmesan, optional
Suggested seasoning: Penzey's Mural of Flavor, salt, celery seed, worcestershire
- Cook the ground meat, and drain any fat. Set aside.
- Chop all the veg and have it all ready to go.
- Heat the fat in a large pan. Start with the garlic, and sautee the veg until cooked.
- Mix the veg with the meat. If using a commercial sauce, top, mix, and heat. If using fresh tomatoes or stewed tomatoes, make a sauce then add it to the pan.
- Top with parmesan if desired.
