High concept: Loveable brute

Problem: Gus tends to over-trust people. He never sees betrayal coming, and when it does come, it's always soul-crushing and unexpected.

Gustav Emmanuel Crain is a native of the Upper Peninsula, born near Iron Mountain and raised on a dairy farm.

A storm of magic swept through when he was twenty-two, decimating the farm and killing his family. A lesser man would have been embittered, but Gus took it as a sign, and moved into the city, forming strong bonds with a wide group of displaced refugees. Over time he's acquired some crucial tools that help him pursue his chosen pursuits, mostly involving keeping his chosen people safe and sound.

Gus is a big-ol boy, six feet tall and farmer-strong.
