The following recipe is vegetarian (lacto) but is not in any way healthy. It is delicious.

  • 14 oz Gimme Lean or other bulk veggie sausage
  • 3 cups milk (I used skim)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • Bacon Salt (this is a brand name - it is vegan/kosher/pareve)
  • pepper (or use Peppered Bacon Salt)
  1. Crumble and saute the veggie sausage.
  2. Make a medium roux from the butter and flour.
  3. On medium heat, combine the roux with sausage and milk. Simmer until thick.
  4. Season with Bacon Salt.

Enjoy with scrambled eggs and grits, or freshly made biscuits.
