• 3 cups sugar
• 3 cups bottled lemon juice
• 2 cups water
• 1/2 tsp lemon oil OR
• 1 lemon's zest, finely chopped, plus the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat (but chop it up)

1. Put all ingredients in a half-gallon container and shake vigorously until sugar is completely dissolved.
2. To serve, dilute 1 part syrup with 4-6 parts water. Ice is nice.

Makes 1/2 gallon syrup, which is enough for about 3 gallons of lemonade.
