Gerdsn are the dominant hominids of a parallel Earth, Gusn. They range from 5-7 feet tall, are covered in short dense fur, and don't wear much clothing. Gerdsn are much stronger than humans, on the order of five times as strong. The magic of the Rifts Earth has made them much more durable, and granted some mystical abilities.

There is a mid-sized colony (~1000) of Gerdsn living in the forested areas west of Lake Michigan and south of Superior, near Iron Mountain. They hold a tenuous “live and let live” agreement with other nearby civilizations.
