• 1 cup tomato puree
• 1/3 cup light corn syrup
• 1/4 cup white vinegar
• 2 tsp dried minced onion
• 2 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• 1/8 tsp garlic powder

Whisk ingredients together in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. When mixture begins to bubble, reduce to low and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Cover and cool, then refrigerate until cold.

Makes 1 cup.

To make Heinz Cocktail Sauce, stir in 2 tsp horseradish when the sauce has cooled.
