1 stick of butter, melted over medium heat
1/2-3/4 cup of flour, gently mixed in to make a roux
Cook for a few minutes.
2 cans of chicken broth; whisk in, and bring to a gentle boil until it thickens
sherry to taste
cubes of chicken bullion to add salt and extra chicken flavor
