* 1 teaspoon salt * 2 tablespoons ghee or oil * 1 onion, peeled and chopped * 6 cloves garlic, chopped * 1 tablespoon fresh ginger * 1 green chili chopped * ½ teaspoon ground cumin * ½ teaspoon ground cardamom * 1 teaspoon coriander * ¼ teaspoon ground cloves * 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 3 cups cooked chickpeas * 2 tomatoes, finely chopped * 1 sprig cilantro for garnish - Heat a large skillet with oil. Add onions, garlic, ginger and jalapeno, and cook for 10 minutes or until onions soften. Add spices and cook until aromatic, about 2 minutes. - Add chickpeas and ½ cup of water. Cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove cover and continue cooking until liquid is absorbed. - Stir in tomatoes, and cook just until they lose their raw edge. - Remove from heat and stir in cilantro.
