* 8 cups apple cider * maple syrup to taste * 6 inches stick cinnamon * 1 tsp whole allspice * 1 tsp whole cloves * 1 orange, sliced into thin wedges * 8 whole cloves In a large saucepan, combine the cider and the maple syrup. Add the spices and the orange wedges, studded with the whole cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil; reduce heat and allow to simmer for a minimum of 30 minutes. Strain solids and return to the pot.
